Do my documents ever leave my device?

No. Merging, splitting, watermarking, compressing, encrypting, signing, and scanning all run entirely on-device using Apple's own frameworks. See our Privacy Policy for the full details.

What does PDF Star Pro unlock?

PDF Star Pro is a single one-time payment, never a subscription — open the Pro screen in the app for the current list of what's included.

I bought PDF Star Pro but it's not showing as unlocked.

Open Settings inside the app and tap Restore Purchases. This re-checks your Apple ID's purchase history and re-unlocks Pro if a valid purchase is found. If it still doesn't work, email us with the Apple ID you purchased with.

How do I turn on iCloud sync?

Go to Settings inside the app and enable iCloud sync. It's off by default, and syncs only to your own private iCloud account — we never see your documents.

How do I lock a PDF with Face ID?

Select the document in the app and choose the lock option. Once locked, Face ID (authenticated entirely on-device) is required to open it again.

Does PDF Star require an account?

No. There's no sign-up, login, or account of any kind.

Where do my processed PDFs go?

They're saved in the app's local storage, organized into folders by the operation that created them (Merged, Watermarked, Locked, and so on) until you export, share, or delete them.
